The Bulova company’s history all started in the 19 th century when the music of Bohemian immigrant named Joseph Bulova began selling watches in his small store in New York at the age of only 23. In 1911 Bulova began producing desktop and pocket watches of the enormous growth of the company. To meet the strong demand for watches and clocks, the company built its first factory in Biel, Switzerland. In the next few years Bulova watches began to produce the finest quality and broke the mold in the watchmaking industry by presenting the first complete line of watches for men and women. Quality Bulova watches made by earned the respect and began to fly off the shelf. The demand for leisure Bulova continued to grow on a large scale and in 1923 the company adopted the name Bulova Watch Company, Inc.

In 1935, Joseph Bulova dies, but his legacy and the company has continued to grow and flourish today.
